Lovejoy Subreddit Goes Wild As Bassist Ash Kabosu Possibly 'Hints' At A Debut Album
Lovejoy bassist Ash Kabosu has been giving fans on Reddit something to talk about, and well, theorise about.
This past week saw several cryptic messages posted to the Lovejoy official fan subreddit, r/lvjy, from Kabosu’s official Reddit account. Kabosu is known for posting random images in response to fans’ questions and queries about upcoming music, or just Lovejoy music in general.
It appears the random images started about a month ago. Kabosu commented on a fan’s Reddit post asking for Lovejoy related ideas with a photo of a man paying for his parking. Then, it continued about three days later, when a fan asked the subreddit to send them their favourite Lovejoy photos where Kabosu commented with only a photo of two clay-looking, misshapen, golden hands.
Another three days later, Kabosu responded to a question about what song Lovenjoyers “need in their veins,” with a photo of sharks.
But then, after 10 days with no sign of Kabosu, he responded to a query about what the last Lovejoy songs fan had listened to with a photo of an older man being baptised in a lake.
Again, three days after the reappearance, Kabosu responded to two questions asked by another fan in the subreddit: “Will we be getting another single off of the new album AND do we know how many tracks it will have?” But, it wasn’t exactly the response fans were hoping for when it was a photo of alphabetical refrigerator magnets that went from A to T.
This left fans in an absolute frenzy because the photos beforehand were all completely random in the eyes of fans, but Kabosu’s alphabetical response was something that fans could at least try and dig into.
Resident Lovenjoyers that also dabble in the Taylor Swift fandom found themselves breaking things down completely, starting to use numbers to try and calculate a possible release date, or an amount of time until an announcement. One fan went and made visual slideshows, attempting to ‘decode’ Kabosu’s message, which you can see below.
There really is no clear meaning to Kabosu’s comments, but his activity within the subreddit has fans questioning what Lovejoy is up to, and how soon it may be until Lovejoy announces new music.
