Lovejoy Local Recap: What was Lovejoy up to in December?
With the Resources for Teaching tour ending on November 30th in New York City, and a killer performance reviewed in London, Lovejoy had every right to relax during the month of December. Yet, the band was busy making sure the fans that didn’t get to attend the tour had the full experience.
Weekly, sometimes twice a week, throughout the month of December, Lovejoy posted Reels, or short-form clips, documenting (quite humorously) parts of tour. ‘Soundcheck jams’ were featured where Joe Goldsmith messed about with his guitar, a venue tour from Mark Boardman where nothing is really audible except for gasps and ‘uh’s, Ash Kabosu’s old-school style clip in New York City, and a live clip of Will Gold instructing the crowd how to sing a song before they finish it for him.
Pictures were posted, videos were released – and yet, the fans aren’t quite fully satisfied.
One could say that some fans are rabid, anxiously awaiting the release of any new music. Since Will Gold leaked three unreleased songs on the r/lvjy subreddit, fans have been actively posting about the desire for new music and actively guessing when it may come. And unreleased ‘Foxholes’ seems to be a particular favourite.
But, it is a new year, with new opportunities, so we’ll just have to see what 2025 holds.
In the meantime, you can keep up with Lovejoy on Instagram, TikTok, their new official Subreddit, their official YouTube, and their vlog YouTube channel.
